A big second round led Tim Crouch to the title at the inaugural Brookledge Championship July 13 at Brookledge Golf Club in Cuyahoga Falls.
The two-day golf tournament was part of The Buckeye Tour, which is a small professional tour established in 2016. The Brookledge Championship was the richest event on the tour so far this season, with a top prize of $5,000.
After shooting a three-under-par round of 67 on day one July 12, Crouch took the title with the best round of the tournament on day two. He shot seven-under-par round of 63 to finish with a two-round scored of 130 (10-under-par)
Crouch's final round included six bridies, one bogey and an eagle on the par-4 fourth hole. With the $5,000 purse, Crouch became the leader on The Buckeye Tour's money list.
Easton Renwick finished second in the tournament at seven-under-par. He shot a five-under-par round of 65 and won a $2,250 purse.
Day one co-leaders Tyler Light and Richard Schembechler each shot two-under-par rounds of 68 July 13. The pair each finished at six-under-par for the tournament and won $1,500.
The Buckeye Tour's next stop will be at Shale Creek Golf Club in Medina July 26 and 27.
