Letter: 'Excited' about Menards' building project on Graham Road

In a recent article on the Falls News-Press website, I was very excited to see Menards' renewed commitment to begin building on Graham Road in 2017. It appears from the outside that Mayor Walters has been very committed to making sure that retailers continue to invest in Cuyahoga Falls.

Dealing with the post-holiday blues

January can be depressing. Many people get the post-holiday blues. You have this big long build-up to Christmas that begins in November (which includes Thanksgiving). There's the music, cards, gifts, parties, and food. It's festive and fun.

Writer says everything is connected

Editor: The wars of the 1940s inspired many corporate moguls. The moguls (wheels at the top) added value with "hubs of activity." At that time corporations and customers exchanged value. But, the exchange scaled slowly and added value in a linear growth pattern.

Out with the old, in with the NEW! Happy 2017 to all! It is always with a little sadness that I determine that the Christmas tree has to come down. The kid in me still finds the twinkle of lights on the tree to be magical.

Letter: Offers thoughts on paper's 'Our View'

Cuyahoga Falls News-Press's Our View states: "We've slipped a little in 2016...[W]e pray that you rediscover the goodness of humanity." Curious. Cuyahoga Falls News-Press slipped? Our local officials slipped? Ohio slipped? Our nation slipped? Did you slip?

Reflections: Finding a right word to describe this past year

How can I describe the past year? It's difficult to narrow it down into one word. Actually impossible. What do you think of when you think of 2016? I'm going to go alphabetically and come up with 26 words. AWESOME -- My son, who beat brain cancer, turned 4 this year.

There are few holidays which have a richer history than Hanukkah. This year, Jews around the world will begin to light tapers and place them in their windows. We do this so that we can proclaim the miracle of the Maccabees to the world, but the nature of that miraclethis is the rest of the story.
