Silver Lake -- The annual festival presented by the Silver Lake Garden Club will carry the "Land of Make Believe" theme on July 15. The event, which is the garden club's major fundraiser, will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Silver Lake Park, 2915 Silver Lake Blvd.

Habitat for Humanity building first two homes in Falls

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Construction of two houses underway on Magnolia Avenue was made possible after a court settlement between the nonprofit and the city which had denied the necessary variances to build them. The homes are being built side-by-side at 741 and 749 Magnolia Ave., Cuyahoga Falls.

Falls tax administrator resigns for position with Akron church

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- The city is currently without a tax administrator. Shelley Goodrich, who had held that position since January 2015, resigned on May 26. Her last day was June 16.

YOUNGSTOWN -- An Akron man has been acquitted after facing charges for being the driver in a shooting at a national park. A federal jury found 27-year-old Raymond Moore III not guilty of aiding and abetting an attempted murder and the discharge of a firearm July 3.

Cuyahoga Falls man drowned in pond behind home, coroner says

Cuyahoga Falls -- The cause of death of an 87-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man whose body was found in a pond behind his home last weekend was ruled a "drowning after an apparent natural event related to [the victim's] heart disease," according to the county coroner.
