Summit County Fair opens with judging for 4-H

Tallmadge – The Summit County Fair opened its gates July 25 and continues through July 30 at 229 E. Howe Road. Gates open at 8 a.m. and the event will be closing Tuesday through Thursday at 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday at 11 p.m.; and Sunday at 7 p.m.

Cuyahoga Falls Police officer injured in crash will be honored by city

Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters said that a sign temporarily designating Broad Boulevard as "Officer Ted Davis Boulevard" will be unveiled in a ceremony at 6 p.m. July 31. That short program will be followed by a presentation at the City Council meeting in the Natatorium at 6:30.

Summit County Sheriff's Deputy indicted on rape charge

AKRON -- Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced July 20 that a Summit County grand jury indicted a 46-year-old deputy with the Summit County Sheriff's Department. Antonio Williamson has been charged with sexual assault on a 26-year-old woman.
