Ceramic class offered Ohio If you want to enjoy a class with the kids(age 5 and up) try a family ceramic class at the Quirk Cultural Center. For July the theme is "Beach Fun" and is scheduled for Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. Both parent and child will do a project.

The Silver Lake Garden Club hosted its annual festival July 15 at Silver Lake Park, beginning with a parade and continuing with games, food swimming and boat rides on the lake. This year's festival theme was the "Land of Make Believe.
Falls Downtown Fridays Taste of the Falls was from 5 to 11 p.m. July 14, with performances by Jay R and The Fourons, as well as more than 30 vendors on Front Street. Proceeds from the sales of alcohol benefitted the Humane Society of Summit County, which was on site with their mobile adoption van.

Youth Soccer Youth Soccer registration for the Riverfront Family YMCA is now open to both members and non- members. The session lasts seven weeks with a total of six games. The kids will also practice one night a week depending on the coach's availability.
Community Band concert July 17 Sit back and enjoy some great music at Valley Vista Park on July 17, at 7:30 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Department invites families and friends to an evening of music in the park. The event is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Village Council looks to fill upcoming vacancy Silver Lake Village Council is looking to fill an upcoming vacancy. Council member Karen Fuller (District C) will attend her last meeting as a Council member on July 17.
Residents and staff of 11 area nursing homes are being transported to the beach this summer by the Celtic Club through its Happy Luau Beach Party Days featuring island/beach band the Waikiki Three (sometimes Four) comprised of Beverly Blass, Dennis Akers and Shari Guttman -- and when available, Randy Gonzales.
