Clover Run to benefit Tallmadge High School student

The second annual Four-Leaf Clover Run and Family Fun Run, sponsored by Four-Leaf Clover Inc., will again benefit local charity partners, Project Ed Bear and The Stephen A. Comunale Jr. Family Cancer Foundation. In addition to these two organizations, this year Four-Leaf Clover Inc. has adopted Cameron Fortney, a 17-year-old Tallmadge High School senior, as its special fighter.

Cameron was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia last fall as he was beginning his senior year of high school. According to Four-Leaf Clover Inc. representatives, Cameron's cancer is treatable, and his prognosis is good.

Cameron is currently receiving treatment five days a week after school. As part of his cancer battle, Cameron's family is faced with mounting medical expenses for his treatment. To help Cameron and his family through this battle, Four-Leaf Clover Inc. representative's say he will receive one-third of all the proceeds from this year's event.

The four-mile run/walk is scheduled for June 10, starting at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 164 W. Market St., will travel through some of the famous brick road West Hill neighborhoods of Akron, then through historic Glendale Cemetery, and wind back up the challenging Glendale Hill. The run will finish on the 50-yard line of John Cistone Field at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Be a part of the "must do" short distance race in Akron with the "best post-race party." Register to run/walk the course or be a part of the Fun Run; start a high school team and fundraising page; start a fundraising page for a special fighter or hero; become a volunteer; donate today; or become a corporate sponsor. Information is available at www.fourleafcloverrun.org.

Four-Leaf Clover Inc. is a 501°3 organization that was founded in 2016 to produce an annual event benefitting local cancer patients and promote a healthy community-wide event.
