Walsh Jesuit performs 'Wizard of Oz'
The CenterStage Theatre Department at Walsh Jesuit announces its spring production: "The Wizard of Oz," written by L. Frank Baum, with music by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg. The musical will run through March 21 in the school's theater at 4550 Wyoga Lake Road.
Set to perform the RSC version, which is closest to the original movie, CenterStage actors will bring the timeless classic to life. Incredible aerial effects will be achieved, thanks to ZFX Flying. In addition, a live 15-piece orchestra, featuring local professionals and some of Walsh Jesuit's finest instrumental students, will perform the musical score.
Walsh Jesuit's David Banks will direct the show and orchestra, and Kim Raines Colton will handle choreography. Mark Schweter, a member of Walsh Jesuit's IT Department, will serve as technical director, and Phil Miller will serve as set consultant.
Show dates and times are: March 14, at 2 p.m.; March 17, at 7 p.m.; March 18, at 7 p.m.; March 19, at 7:30 p.m.; March 20, at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and March 21, at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Special group rates for organizations and schools are available. Falls High plans senior recognition
Senior Recognition will be conducted during the school day this year at Cuyahoga Falls High School. The date will be May 20, starting at 8:30 a.m. This will be a formal ceremony in the auditorium with seniors in their cap and gowns. Parents are welcome.
Falls High graduation rescheduled
The Cuyahoga Falls High School 2010 Graduation Ceremony will take place June 3, due to a scheduling conflict at Blossom Music Center.
