by Jim Isabella Correspondent The Black Tigers traveled to Mayfield for their last dual meet of the season on Saturday and it served as the last tune-up before the championships began. Despite both teams suffering losses, the girls lost 143-40. "Many of the swimmers again posted lifetime best swims or season best times in events that they do not usually swim. Determination was shown at this meet by the underclassmen as well at this meet," said Falls coach Peter Nauman. "Of course, swimming is an individual sport but it is nice to see much of the team working as one whether be cheering or swimming as teammates." Standout swims for the Black Tigers included Morgan Lydic in the 200 IM and 100 breast, Katie Nix for her personal record swim in the 100 fly, Kaytee Powell in the 100 fly with a new PR and Kacey Endlich with a new PR in the fly, and Amanda Shackelford a new PR in the 100 free. "As you can see, although Mayfield got us on the score we made up in heart and determination," Peter Nauman said. The swimmers of the meet were Anna Zeller for her PR swims in the 200 IM and 100 free, Amanda Shackelford for her 100 free effort The Black Tigers will compete in the sectional Tournament. The diving begins on Feb. 10 and the Boys will swim on Feb. 12. For more information, Falls has a website at www.swimchamps.com/cfhs for more updates about the team.
