BURGLARY

Door damaged: A Hidden Lakes resident reported someone broke into his home through the side garage door without permission between 5:30 and 6:52 p.m. Jan. 6.

No items were reported taken, according to the report.

Damage to the door was estimated at $500.

THEFT

Money taken: A clerk for a gas station in the 2100 block of State Road reported a white male approached the counter inside the store and ordered him to give him all the cash in the register at 8:32 p.m. Jan. 8. The suspect then fled on foot, according to the report, and headed north around the building with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said they are investigating.

Vehicle stolen: A resident of Kemppel Circle reported someone stole her 2012 Dodge Journey while it was parked in her driveway between 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6 and 5:07 p.m. Jan. 7. It was believed the vehicle was unlocked at the time and the keys were in it, according to the report. Loss was estimated at $27,000. There are no leads, the report said.

Supermarket arrest: Two Cuyahoga Falls women, 44 and 29, were arrested and charged with theft after they pushed a cart out of a grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road with items they didn't pay for at 6:40 p.m. Jan. 5. According to the report, the 44-year-old stole a $25 sweeper and the 29-year-old took $53 in groceries.

IDENTIFY FRAUD, THEFT

Checks forged: A Falls man reported on Jan. 5 someone stole eight checks from his Akron Police and Fire Credit Union account and then attempted to cash four separate checks for $813. There are leads, the report said.

 

OBSTRUCTING OFFICIAL BUSINESS, DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS, PARAPHERNALIA

Hidden drugs found: A 20-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with obstructing official business, possessing drug abuse instruments and paraphernalia after the car he was riding in was stopped by police for a traffic violation at 10:45 p.m. Jan. 4 at Sixth Street and Stow Avenue.

The man initially gave officers a false name, then he was found to be wanted on several warrants for his arrest, according to the report.

At the scene, police reported finding the man had two hypodermic needles.

At the Summit County Jail, officers found crystal methamphetamine hidden in "his body cavity," the report said.

 

ROBBERY,

RESISTING ARREST

Cops cuff Clevelander: A 23-year-old Cleveland man was arrested and charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor resisting arrest after he allegedly fought with a store employee during a theft of a video game system and two games valued at $439 at an electronics store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue at 2:26 p.m. Jan. 3.

While he was being placed under arrest, the man would not comply with orders of the officer who was going to handcuff him, according to the report. Instead, he spun around with a high elbow and got into a fighting stance. The victim did not report any injuries, police said.

 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Woman sought: A warrant on a domestic violence complaint was issued for a 20-year-old Falls woman after the father of her daughter reported she repeatedly punched him in the back and back of the head and cut him on both hands with a box cutter between 9 and 10:40 p.m. Jan. 8.

The man did not require medical treatment, according to police.
