Woman charged after she bit her mother: A 33-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman was arrested and charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after her mother reported she and her daughter were arguing at their home about a man the daughter was seeing when the daughter threw her phone at her mother striking her at 12:05 a.m. Dec. 12. The mother broke the phone and the daughter then attacked her mother, biting her on her arms. As the two women fought on the floor, the mother's boyfriend tried to separate them and the daughter refused to let go of her mom's forearm which she was biting, the report said. The mother declined medical treatment.

Man arrested in choking incident: A Cuyahoga Falls man was arrested and charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after a woman he lives with reported he choked her with his hand twice and threatened to shoot her during an altercation at their residence at 8:40 p.m. Dec. 5. No medical treatment was needed, the police report said.


Only so many shoplifting days left until Christmas: A 27-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft at an electronics store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue after he allegedly hid seven video games valued at $140 in his clothing and started to leave the store when he was detained by security at 5:35 p.m. Dec. 9, according to the report.

Set of tires and rims stolen: A resident of the 1700 block of Bailey Road reported someone removed four tires and rims valued at $2,000 from his 1997 green Chevrolet while it was parked at his residence between 3 and 6:30 a.m. Dec. 6. There was possible $800 damage to the vehicle's brakes. There are no leads or suspects.

They may not have gone far: An Akron woman, 18, reported someone stole her 2002 green Saturn owned by her mother from the driveway of a residence in the 1300 block of Curtis Avenue between 9:15 and 10:42 p.m. Dec. 8. The daughter said she didn't have the keys and wasn't sure if she had left them inside the car or if she had locked the car. The vehicle is described as having a scrape on the left side, a cracked tail light with red tape on it, and a dream catcher and yellow pine tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror. The car, valued at $3,000, was believed to be low on fuel, too, the report said. There are no leads or suspects.

Not a good morning: A resident of the 1500 block of East Hunters Lake Drive reported he parked his vehicle in the parking lot outside his apartment at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and the next morning when he went outside it was gone. The vehicle is a 2015 white Chrysler valued at $32,000, police said.

Stolen Unmanned Vehicle: A resident of the 1100 block of Marie Lane reported someone took her locked 2014 red Ford Explorer SUV from the driveway in front of her garage between 10:15 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7:15 a.m. Dec. 7. Her loss was estimated at $25,000.


Woman felt threatened: A 36-year-old Akron woman was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor, after a Cuyahoga Falls woman reported she threatened to kill her at 3 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 1200 block of Buchholzer Boulevard. The report said the victim believed she would carry out her threat, and a witness corroborated the victim's allegation.


Teens fight, librarian injured: Two Cuyahoga Falls boys, 16 and 17, were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police say they fought in the Teen Room of the Cuyahoga Falls Library, 2015 Third Street, at 3:28 p.m. Dec. 7. The 16-year-old, who allegedly pushed a librarian injuring her right arm/shoulder, was also charged with misdemeanor assault.


Stove stolen from cellar: A resident of the 600 block of Broad Boulevard reported on Dec. 4 someone entered his house between 9 a.m. Nov. 23 and 11 p.m. Nov. 28, possibly using a lost house key, and stole a $750 stove that was being stored in the basement. There were no signs of forced entry. There are possible leads.


Expired tag, rolled joint: A 20-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with drug abuse after police found a suspected marijuana cigarette under his driver's seat during a vehicle search following a traffic stop for an expired temporary tag at Washington Street and Northland Avenue at 12:26 a.m. Dec. 6. He was handed copies of his citations and released at the scene.

Teen arrested on warrant, drug charge: A 19-year-old Tallmadge man was stopped at Lindbergh Avenue and 21st Street at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 1 for an active warrant through Silver Lake Police Department. He was arrested on that warrant and while he was being searched, officers found a small bag of suspected marijuana in his waistband. Silver Lake police took custody of him. The warrant, filed last August, charged him with driving under suspension, drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.


Crash caused by man running red light, report says: A 49-year-old New Franklin man was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device after a crash that sent two people to the hospital. At approximately 6:15 p.m. Dec. 8, a 48-year-old Stow woman was traveling west on Portage Trail and turning left onto North Haven Boulevard. At the same time, the New Franklin man, eastbound on Portage Trail, ran a red light and caused the collision, according to the report. The Stow woman was taken to Akron General North for non-incapacitating injuries. A 14-year-old female passenger in the woman's car was taken to the same hospital for possible injuries. The New Franklin man was treated on-scene for possible injuries. Both vehicles had disabling damage to their front ends.

Village of Silver Lake


Man taken to hospital: An Ivanhoe Drive told police her 46-year-old son was located in the bathroom overdosing at about 7 a.m. Dec. 6. Upon arrival, the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department forced entry into the bathroom and found the victim sitting on the toilet. Fire officials administered Narcan and the victim came around, according to the report. EMS carried the victim to the squad and transported him to Western Reserve Hospital.


Deer struck by vehicle: A 20-year-old Wooster woman was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound on Graham Road on Dec. 10 at about 11:30 p.m. when a deer crossed the road and was struck by the vehicle. There were three passengers in the vehicle -- a 20-year-old Wooster woman, a 19-year-old Monrovia woman and a 17-year-old from Mount Airy, Md. No one in the vehicle was injured, according to police.
