Cuyahoga Falls Police Reports (Nov. 20, 2016)

Electronics, cash, pills missing: A resident of the 1500 block of Sackett Avenue reported someone entered her residence between 1 and 6 p.m. Nov. 13 and took a video game system, controller, $50 in cash and eight prescription pills. Her total loss was $150. There is a suspect.


Landscaper's tool taken: The owner of a landscaping business in the 1500 block of Akron Peninsula Road reported someone pried open a door to his building between 4 p.m. Nov. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 13 and stole two backpack leaf blowers, two weed whackers, a rototiller, cut-off saw, hedge trimmer and chainsaw. Loss was estimated at $3,750.

Arrest made: A 19-year-old Akron woman was arrested and charged with theft after employees of a department store and a resale shop, both on Howe Avenue, identified her as a suspect in the reported theft of $145 worth of CDs from the department store Nov. 13.

Jewelry reported stolen: A resident of the 200 block of Portage Trail reported someone took a diamond ring and a chocolate diamond bracelet from the bedroom of her apartment around 3 p.m. Nov. 11. Her loss is estimated at $13,000. There is a suspect.

Car part stolen: A resident of an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Americana Drive reported someone cut the catalytic converter off of her car between 8 p.m. Nov. 8 and 3 p.m. Nov. 9. Her loss was $53. The owner of the property may have caught the incident on video, the report said.

Shoe phone stolen: A Munroe Falls man reported someone stole his smartphone which was inside his tennis shoe under a bench on the basketball court at the Natatorium, 2345 Fourth St., between 5:30 and 7:50 p.m. Nov. 8. Police were told the Natatorium could provide video.

Husband arrested: A 20-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after his wife reported he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her at 9 p.m. Nov. 11. The woman had a visible injury, according to the report. She did not request medical assistance.



Suspected pot found: A 51-year-old East Liverpool woman was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substances after police found a small bag of suspected marijuana in the driver's side visor. Police had initially smelled marijuana during a traffic stop on the vehicle at Portage Trail and 11th Street at 10:25 p.m. Nov. 4.



Car vs. truck: A 48-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man remained hospitalized 10 days after the car he was driving rear-ended a parked utility truck, injuring a telephone company worker, on Nov. 4. According to the report, the telecommunications employee, a 51-year-old North Canton man, was servicing a utility box on Howe Avenue approximately 85 feet east of Hunters Lake Drive at 3:58 p.m. The truck's lights were flashing and there were traffic cones placed on the roadway. The Falls man, who was traveling westbound on Howe Avenue, said he looked at his phone and didn't see that the truck was stopped. The Falls man was in stable condition on Nov. 14, according to a spokesperson for Akron City Hospital. Akron General Hospital, where the North Canton man was taken, did not have him listed as a patient on Nov. 14. The Falls man will be cited for full time and attention. His car had disabling damage. Damage to the utility truck was functional.
